The website states Jose Francisco Ruiz and Jose Navarro, two signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence, are buried at the cemetery. Francisco “Don Pancho” Ruiz, alcade or acting mayor during the Alamo, is also interred there. Among the graves is Blas Herrera, “who alerted Alamo defenders when Santa Anna’s troops approached San Antonio.”The site states nine Confederate Tejano soldiers have been identified at the cemetery.
