SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio will soon reopen the coolest place in town this holiday season!The Rotary Club of San Antonio plans to open the Ice Rink to the public
The Rotary Club of San Antonio plans to open the Ice Rink to the public on Nov. 17 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. with public skating beginning at 6 p.m.
“Rotary’s motto is ‘Service Above Self’, whether it's serving meals, building playgrounds, planting trees, or operating the ice rink,” says Rotary Club President Paul Garro. “Proceeds generated from the Ice Rink have supported community projects including $87,600 in scholarship funds to help students pursue their educational goals as well as supported legacy programs such as Kingdom of Kids, which helps feed food insecure school children.
“The holidays in Downtown San Antonio represent a truly magical experience, and the Rotary Club’s Ice Rink continues to expand on the growth and momentum surrounding our community for a thriving downtown,” says Trish DeBerry, President and CEO of Centro San Antonio.Military and first responder discounts will be available as well as cheap-skate half-admission nights will also be offered.
