Nugget, a 1-year-old American Staffordshire mix, received hundreds of quills in his face and legs after deciding to"make friends" with a porcupine, according to San Antonio Pets Alive! Nugget was rushed to an overnight emergency clinic and then transferred to another veterinary clinic the next day to remove any additional quills, the animal shelter wrote on Wednesday.
"Nugget had x-rays, fluids, quill removal surgery, anesthesia, medications and more," the shelter wrote in a Facebook post.
