Sammy Hagar’s upcoming High Tide Beach Party & Car Show in Huntington Beach has been canceled over permit issues
The music event, scheduled for Sept. 28-29 at Huntington State Beach, was "denied the necessary permit" from California State Parks," the notice reads. "Unfortunately, there is no possibility to relocate the event." Ticket-holders will be issued a refund.
The second annual High Tide Beach Party was scheduled to include performances by Sammy Hagar & the Circle, The Beach Boys, Vince Neil, Night Ranger, Blue Oyster Cult, and Extreme. Shortly after news of the cancellation hit, Hagar took to Twitter to issue a video apology to his fans. "I don't know exactly what happened," Hagar says in the clip. "The promoters and the city both put out press releases saying what happened. And I guess that's what happened. All I can say is I'm sorry. I'm more disappointed than anyone. I think all the fans know how much I care about them, how much I care about my parties and my music and everything that I do. But I'm gonna try to make it up.
On Friday , California State Parks issued a press release stating the festival's production company, Freeze Management, “did not meet permit requirements," the. State Parks Superintendent Kevin Pearsall reportedly said the company failed to pay all fees for the event, and did not produce contracts for sanitation services or safety documentation for the main stage.
