Galatopita, or ruffled milk pie, is a Greek dessert in which phyllo is baked directly into a simple custard.
There's delicious phyllo dough,so it's crisp and buttery on the top,just for some summer flair.There's no yeast, maybe a little bit of oil.Look at how thin it is.And oftentimes you'll find itSo throw it in the fridge overnight to thaw out slowly.'cause it can dry out.and no one will ever know.but I don't think that it makes that much of a difference.You could use a pie plate, and we'll butter that,You want to make sure you keep it coveredJust ever so slightly damp.
My hope is that they willwhile the bottom will get all cozy with the custard.and crisp and brown.Extra caramelly, crunchy, and shiny.until everything is really golden brown.You just whisk it together,Ooh, those are nice yellow yolks.so do it right from the fridge.I think a custard is usually dairy and eggs and some sugar.Lots of desserts.Some whole milk, some granulated sugar.vanilla extract out there.which I just think goes so nicelyI think cardamom would be really good here too.
