“When you fight for what you truly believe in, you sometimes get emotional. We all have a bad day,” said Bravo’s father, Armando Gutierrez Bravo. The mayor had previously suspended Bravo from his committee assignments. It was not immediately clear if that would remain permanent or if the mayor would reassign him to new committees.
Bravo, who had previously dated Sandoval, was upset with her lack of support on his plan for spending excess CPS Energy revenue on climate-related initiatives. Sources told KSAT that Bravo got personal during the confrontation, which left Sandoval in tears.Sandoval’s abstention from a vote during the meeting that followed meant Bravo’s plan for the money died and the city went forward with a mayor-supported city staff plan to use the money for CPS bill credits instead.
