The National Weather Service says elevated heat index values can be expected this week in South-Central Texas.Western portions of South-Central Texas will see continued chance for showers and storms through late Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service said light to moderate rain continues to move northward for western portions of the region with the heaviest rain, including a"thunderstorm or two," occurring over portions of Maverick county, including Eagle Pass., and the start of July is bringing much of the same. Highs today are expected to flirt with the century mark. Breezy south to southeast winds with gusts of up to 20 mph are expected mainly this afternoon into evening.
10:05 AM: A region of light to moderate rain continues to move northward for western portions of South-Central Texas. The heaviest rain with an embedded thunderstorm or two is currently occurring over portions of Maverick county, including Eagle Pass.
