Ryanair warned investors that it expects complications stemming from the grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX to reduce capacity growth through summer 2020
that Boeing offered Ryanair to earn this contract, announced in 2014.
As a result, the airline adjusted its expected passenger growth rate for the summer 2020 from 7% to 3%, with full year traffic growth for the year reduced from 162 million passengers to approximately 157 million. Ryanair will also review cuts and closures at some of its bases for both the winter 2019 and summer 2020 seasons.
