Voters go to the polls in Rutherglen and Hamilton West to elect a new MP on October 5 following a campaign that has lasted months.
The Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election is widely viewed as a two-horse race between the SNP and Labour.But local voters will have plenty of other options when they go to polling stations on Thursday. The other mainstream parties - Lib Dems, Tories and Greens - will be represented.

It suspended its involvement in elections during Jeremy Corbyn's spell as Labour leader. It resumed campaigning in 2020.
