J.Lo Shares the Marriage Advice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Gave Her and Alex Rodriguez
about how she and fiancé Alex Rodriguez still reference the relationship advice 86-year-old Ginsburg gave to them when the three met earlier this year.
When Lopez asked Ginsburg if she had any marriage guidance she wanted to share, the Supreme Court justice had a surprising suggestion for the Golden Globe nominee. “It’s good to be a little deaf sometimes,” she said to thethat Ginsburg’s mother gave her before she married her husband, Marty Ginsburg, in 1954. The two were married for more than 50 years until his death in 2010.
“[Ginsburg] was like, ‘An unkind word, people are not perfect, sometimes you just have to let it go,” said Lopez. According to Lopez, Ginsburg also gave advice on how the two should handle simultaneously balancing their relationship and increasingly busy work schedules without sacrificing love for one another.
“When everything gets crazy, or people get out of control, when there’s heightened emotions, don’t go there with people. Just stay calm,” continued Lopez, speaking of Ginsburg’s advice. The pop star then admitted that she and Rodriguez “will now reference RBG” and tell the other to “stay calm” if conflicts ever arise during their nonstop schedules.of this year, the two have yet to reveal a wedding date, stating that privacy is the main factor.
“I just think certain things have to be sacred and be protected, and you have to be careful and delicate,” said Lopez when explaining their adamancy in keeping their wedding date a secret. “It’s not just me.
