Rutgers has made a small splash in the Great Lakes State this cycle after not recruiting the Wolverines’ turf much over the last few years.
Gone are the days where Jim Harbaugh and his satellite camps polarized us, starting a recruiting war, including the offseason pettiness that made recruiting, well, fun.
“The defense is playing good, the offense is playing good, so I think it will be a very competitive game,” Johnson said. Yet, an offer from the school would not come. Ron Bellamy, Michigan’s wide receiver coach, who is in his third season on staff, coached at West Bloomfield — Johnson’s high school — for over a decade.“Even some of their own coaches labeled me as the hardest-hitting linebacker in Michigan,” Johnson said. “But it is what it is now.”
