Rutgers is showing its dedication to landing legacy recruit and top 2024 target Dylan Harper by flying halfway across the world to watch him play.
participate in the FIBA U19 World Cup with the United States this weekend, multiple sources told NJ Advance Media.
The Scarlet Knights are believed to be the only coaching staff from Harper’s final five schools — Rutgers, Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Auburn — in attendance at the World Cup in Hungary. A majority of high-major college coaching staffs were in Orlando, Florida, this week for the NBPA Top 100 camp that gathered some of the top rising high school juniors and seniors in the country.
Harper has played in the first four games of the competition so far for the United States. He is averaging 8 points on 50% shooting , 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 turnovers in 17.8 minutes per game. Harper was one of 12 players named the USA Basketball’s under-19 team following a training camp tryout earlier this month.
