Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva’s right to compete in the women’s event at the Beijing Olympics will be decided at an urgent hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

at the Russian Figure Skating Championships in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Dec. 25, 2021, the International Testing Agency, which oversees the Olympic drug testing program, said Friday.

"A decision is needed before the next competition the athlete is due to take part in," the International Testing Agency said, explaining why it wasn't waiting for the “reasoned decision” by the Russian anti-doping agency.
