British officials believe Denis Sergeev was involved in a nerve-agent attack against former Russian agent Sergei Skripal in 2018.

As British police announced Tuesday that they are charging a third Russian suspect for alleged connection to an ex-spy's poisoning, Russia's Foreign Ministry accused Britain of using the case to"fuel anti-Russian sentiment in British society." The man facing charges is Denis Sergeev, a member of Russia's military intelligence service who reportedly used the alias"Sergey Fedotov," the AP reported.

Both Sergei and Yulia Skripal survived the attack, but one woman died and two other people fell ill, the AP reported. Moscow has adamantly denied any involvement in the attack despite assertions from British authorities that it was authorized"at a senior level of the Russian state."
