Gracie and Hicks were found on Wednesday when a cemetery volunteer loudly shook a box of Cheerios, getting their attention as they chomped on leaves in a wooded area just 300 feet from the cemetery. The goats, two of four that were brought from a farm to graze at the cemetery, clearing it of invasive species, went missing earlier this week. Cemetery staff asked for help finding them on“I think they thought they were watching TV, they saw the hardened criminal escape from Pennsylvania and they thought they could do the same“ Entertainment Director at the cemetery Anthony Susco, known as “Dancing Tony” said. “They went in search of a different life.
It wasn’t the first time the two silly billies ran away from the grounds. Earlier in the summer they made another run for it to a community garden nearby. But it’ll be their last breakout this year. Susco said the cemetery had to cut the goats’ summer camp short — all four goats and the one sheep they came with are back home for the summer.
