An RTD train struck and killed a pedestrian Sunday morning, according to Denver police.
The crash happened on the A Line at about 11 a.m. at a crossing between Smith Road and North Monaco Street Parkway, according to police. The A Line, which runs between downtown Denver and Denver International Airport, was shut down between Union Station and Peoria Station; passengers will be shuttled around the closure on buses, according to RTD.
Laurie Huff, spokeswoman for RTD, said she did not have an estimated time for when the closure might lift and said passengers should expect “significant delays.” She declined to comment on the specifics of the incident. Denver police also did not offer any details about how the pedestrian was struck, though spokesman Kurt Barnes said the collision happened at a crossing.
