Florida Gov. DeSantis vetoes a popular criminal justice reform bill that received overwhelming bipartisan support in the state Legislature. The move amplifies his efforts to move to the right of former President Trump on a range of issues.

The bill was sponsored in the Florida House by Republican state Rep. David Smith, who has endorsed DeSantis’ presidential bid.
