The band is best known for such hit songs as “Taking Care of Business,” “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet,” “Roll on Down the Highway” (which Robbie co-wrote), and “Let It Ride.”

“Another sad departure. The pounding beat behind BTO, my little brother Robbie has joined Mum, Dad & brother Gary on the other side,” he wrote. “Maybe Jeff Beck needs a drummer! He was an integral cog in our rock ‘n’ roll machine and we rocked the world together.”Bachman-Turner Overdrive, or BTO as they were affectionately known, was formed in the early 1970s in Winneipeg, Manitoba,. The initial lineup consisted of Robbie, Randy, and Tim Bachman, as well as bassist/vocalist Fred Turner.

They are best known for such hit songs as “Taking Care of Business,” “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet,” “Roll on Down the Highway” , and “Let It Ride.”. Robbie Bachman didn’t join that incarnation, however, due to issues with Randy over the management of the band. He did rejoin the band for a 1988 reunion.

Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s catalogue includes five top-40 albums and six US top-40 singles. It has five certified gold albums and one certified platinum album in the U.S. The band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
