Two men threatened a woman with a golf club before stealing her purse in Lincoln Park Tuesday night, Chicago police said.
The victim was standing on the sidewalk when police said two male suspects approached and demanded her property.
"After she passed the alley right there, there are big trees," said witness Alex Garibay. "The guys were hiding behind those trees. She started screaming, he turned that way. Tried to hit her with a golf thing right there."One of the suspects was holding a golf club and threatened the victim with it while the other suspect stole her purse, police said. The suspects then fled in a white vehicle.
Because he was not hurt, Jensen did not file a police report until a couple days later when he saw an ABC7 story about the violent assault on Nick Christen, the very same night. He'd previously met Christen in the neighborhood while walking their dogs. No arrests have been made in any of these cases and police will not say if they're related. Police only said that if and when a pattern is established, they will release that information to the public.
