The traffic lights on either side of the tunnel are currently dark
A road tunnel in the North of Glasgow has been closed tonight after a traffic signal cable was"ripped from the roof".
Shortly after 8.40pm this evening, a Traffcom update warned motorists that the Blind Tunnel on Darnick Street in Germiston had been shut to allow for essential repairs. It has been reported that the signal cable was also "cut" and is now"hanging down" in the tunnel meaning that traffic lights on both sides of the tunnel are currently dark.
The road will now remain closed until further notice for safety reasons with drivers advised to use an alternate route.Share
