The singer posted a lengthy statement on Twitter on Monday in which he explained his decision to reschedule the "Rick Springfield & Friends" getaway show, which was originally slated to take place in November in the popular vacation destination. “We have been closely monitoring the situation in the Dominican Republic,” Springfield, 69 wrote on Twitter of the Nov. 7 event slated to feature Scandal singer Patty Smyth, as well as host and SiriusXM DJ Mark Goodman, actor Doug Davidson and musical guests Guns & Mullets.
