The Democratic presidential candidate was asked what he thought about the support he's received not only from the former president but former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and podcaster Alex Jones as well. Kennedy pointed to his late father's example, who, while running for president in 1968, won the support of the largely Republican state of South Dakota. Kennedy's father was assassinated in Los Angeles, California, three months after launching his campaign.
From the beginning of his campaign, Kennedy promised he wouldn't"attack other people personally" because he claimed it"isn't good for our country." He went on to accuse other Democratic politicians of not"talking to people who don’t agree with [them]." "My purpose is to find the issues, the values that we have in common, rather than focus on the issues and the personalities that keep us all apart," Kennedy said.Kennedy's candidacy is supported by 44% of Democrats, with 37% opposed and 19% not sure, according to a YouGov poll. The candidate is facing off with author Marianne Williamson and President Joe Biden in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
The Democratic National Committee will not be holding a primary debate ahead of the election involving the three candidates.
