Homeowners are ready to barricade the street to stop them being put up down their quiet Lancashire street
Residents have threatened to barricade their cul-de-sac after several telegraph poles were put up in their road.
Simon Collinge has lived in Ellerbeck Close for six years and loves the quiet cul-de-sac on the outskirts of Burnley. Residents all get along and there is a real sense of community which stretches to the surrounding roads.More recently, however, the community has felt forced to come together to voice their outrage at a recent influx of new telegraph poles.
That woman who achieved a small victory is Julie who has lived in Oaken Bank for 23 years. She said: "It was going to go right outside my kitchen window. Bosses at Brsk have promised to listen to residents and address their concerns. In a statement the company said: "Brsk is upgrading the telecommunications infrastructure in the area and future-proofing the suburb with full fibre. Full fibre is currently the only known technology that will adequately sustain broadband demands into the future so it is important that suburbs receive this upgrade.
