Owens said, "We have now come to a point where we recognize that we have to concentrate on the American people and be selfless" and are looking forward to winning the faith of the public again. The Republicans are expected to meet again Tuesday in another attempt to choose a nominee for speaker. The Utah representative said he does have a favorite among the eight remaining candidates, but declared he would not reveal who that is and stressed he will vote for whomever the conference picks as the best choice.
