It is the state’s third poorest county by median household income.Median rent in Greene County rose to $353 per month. That was an increase of $107 over the previous five-year period.
In terms of raw dollar amounts, a handful of large, wealthy counties - especially suburban areas - saw the largest increases. Baldwin County, home to Alabama’s beaches on the Gulf Coast and one of the fastest growing counties in the state, led the way with a $180 increase, with a new median rent of $892 in 2017-2021.
