Also known as ghost guns, 3D-printed guns are becoming more common as they are relatively cheap to make and printed without serial numbers, making them untraceable. The raids were carried out in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Saskatchewan, resulting in 45 arrests and the seizure of 440 guns.

RCMP say that several agencies worked together on the investigation including the National Weapons Support Team, RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Saskatchewan, Regina Police Service, Saskatchewan Provincial Prosecutions, the RCMP Regina Integrated Intelligence Unit, Division Operational Communication Centre, and White Butte RCMP Detachment.
