In another hit to business in downtown Seattle, Regal Cinemas has announced plans to close the Meridian 16 theaters,According to CNN, Meridian 16 is one of 39 theaters that are scheduled to be shuttered across the United States. Cineworld, Regal Cinemas’ parent company, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September and is expected to reject leases at the 39 locations beginning on Feb. 15, which would save the company $22 million a year.in downtown Seattle, as the company moves the signature store to Bellevue Square.
