“Grey House,” a thriller by the Chicago-trained writer Levi Holloway that premiered in 2019 at the tiny A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood, will open on Broadway in May, the producers Tom Kirdahy and Robert Ahrens announced Tuesday.

“Grey House,” a creepy thriller by the Chicago-trained writer Levi Holloway that premiered in 2019 at the tiny A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood will open on Broadway in May, the producers Tom Kirdahy and Robert Ahrens announced Tuesday. The show, to be directed by Joe Mantello will star longtime Steppenwolf Theatre ensemble member Laurie Metcalf, as well as Tatiana Maslany, Paul Sparks, Sophia Anne Caruso and Millicent Simmonds.“It’s strange, scary and exhilarating all at the same time,” Holloway said of the rare move in a recent interview.
“Grey House,” which follows what happens after a couple crashes their car in the mountains and finds themselves in a remote cabin, begins preview performances in New York on April 29 and officially opens May 30 at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 W. 45th St., New York.A Red Orchid is excepted to produce another Holloway world premiere this summer with ensemble member Michael Shannon in a leading role.
