In the latest issue of DC's Task Force Z, Red Hood kills a notorious villain... and even Batman would have a tough time objecting.
While the Red Hood has just murdered a classic Batman villain, multiple extenuating circumstances may make it one of the few times the Dark Knight would find killing acceptable. In the latest issue of Task Force Z, Jason Todd is continuing to lead the newest Squad of recently deceased foes-turned-zombies against his will. However, it does provide him with some sweet revenge against the foe who's arguably done the most damage to the Bat-Family in recent years.
In Task Force Z from writer Matthew Rosenberg and artist Eddy Barrows, the team of undead DC villains consists of Man-Bat, the Arkham Knight, Mr. Bloom, as well as their newest recruit Deadshot. However, one of the most significant foes on the zombie squad is Bane, one of Batman's most dangerous and classic foes whom every member of the Bat-Family currently hates more than ever before.
While Bane certainly deserved justice for killing Alfred , the foe is likely too valuable of an asset for Task Force Z to just let him stay dead. Red Hood's murder of Bane is more for the simple act of personal catharsis than anything else, as it's highly doubtful the death will last.
In any case, Red Hood's murder of Bane is very satisfying regardless of its permanence. One could also imagine that this would be the one time Batman would be okay with killing as well. While Bane will no doubt come back either as a zombie or as a full-fledged villain once more in the DC Universe, it's good that he finally got what he deserved in the pages of Task Force Z . .
