The Alliance Party's candidate Philip McKinney lost his seat to the SDLP's Martin Reilly by 49 votes at the election count in May.
A recount of votes for a seat on Derry City and Strabane council is to go ahead on Wednesday, it has emerged.
The Alliance Party had said one of the stages of the count in the Waterside area had not been "properly completed" and had taken a legal challenge. The party's candidate Philip McKinney lost his seat to the SDLP's Martin Reilly by 49 votes at the election count in May.The recount is to take place on Wednesday morning at Foyle Arena.
The Alliance Party lost both its sitting councillors in May's election in Derry and Strabane - Rachael Ferguson and Mr McKinney - after securing the first seats for the party in either the Derry and Strabane or the old Derry City Council in decades in the 2019 elections. In June, Alliance leader Naomi Long said an "anomaly" in the counting of votes prompted the legal challenge.
