AAA predicts almost 4 million Texans will travel for the Fourth of July weekend. About 400,000 of that number are expected to fly, which is a 12 percent increase compared to the last 2 years. "We expected the summer of 2023 to be highly busy, and it has been very busy," said Elizabeth Ferrer, spokesperson for"Certainly, the weekend before a holiday, like the Fourth of July, which is a big holiday, we are going to be record-breaking busy," said Ferrer.Officials at Austin Bergstrom International Airport and with the Transportation Security Administration say this July 4 weekend will be one of the busiest, and potentially record-breaking.
