RCMP in southern Sask responded to three fatal overdoses involving suspected methamphetamine or fentanyl in the past week.

Then on Feb. 13, Moosomin RCMP responded to an unresponsive man in a Moosomin hotel room. EMS and police officers attempted CPR but the 22-year-old man was declared dead at the scene. Police officers found a light-coloured powder at the scene suspected to contain methamphetamine or fentanyl.Article content

On Feb. 14, Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to an unresponsive woman discovered outside a Preeceville residence. Paramedics rushed the 50-year-old woman to the Preeceville Hospital, where was pronounced dead. Police officers found a white powder at the scene suspected to contain methamphetamine or fentanyl.The Saskatchewan Coroners Service will conduct autopsies and secure toxicology analyses to confirm the nature and role of the illicit drugs in the suspected overdoses.
