Tony Siragusa, former NFL player and Kenilworth, New Jersey, native, died Wednesday, former Baltimore Ravens teammate, Jamal Lewis, told TMZ Sports. He was 55 years old.
Siragusa stood 6-foot-3 and was 340-pound during his playing career. He was a defensive tackle who started his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts in 1990. Despite being undrafted, he became a starter by the 1992 season.
He signed with the Ravens 1997 and was a key part of the 2000 team that won Super Bowl XXXV. Siragusa was on the Ravens defense along with Ray Lewis, Rod Woodson and Adalius Thomas. This team led Baltimore to the record for fewest points allowed in a regular season. He had a 12-year NFL stint, recording 22 sacks and 564 combined tackles during that time. He retired in 2001. After his playing career, Siragusa joined Fox Sports as their NFL sideline reporter and analyst.“The Goose, Tony Siragusa has passed away at 55.. I’m heart broken as is all of Colts Nation.”
