The Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles have their starting pitchers set for the first two game of the American League Division Series.
The top-seeded Orioles are countering with Kyle Bradish for the Saturday noon start at Camden Yards. FS1 is broadcasting the opener.
By starting Heaney, the Rangers bypass right-hander Dane Dunning, who had not pitched in a week and was well-rested to start the opener. Meanwhile, Max Scherzer threw two innings of live practice during the workout, as the Rangers decide the playoff availability of the three-time Cy Young Award winner. Rosters must be set by 9 a.m. central time on Saturday.
His second start against the Rangers was also a win over the Orioles, though he took a no-decision. In the 3-2 victory, Bradish went 6 1/3 innings, giving up four hits, one run, one walk and struck out four.
