In the future, all new vehicles will come from one of four global Stellantis platforms that support electrification. While there is a STLA Frame for Ram's fullsize trucks, STLA Large has more flexibility for a lifestyle-oriented truck and appears to be a better fit. And given that the truck is still a few years out, it is reasonable to expect electrification.As new vehicle prices rise in the U.S., there is an emerging opportunity for more affordable entry-level vehicles, Koval notes.
While Ram has traditionally been a North America-focused brand, it is expanding internationally and enjoying its best-ever sales in other regions. There are good-looking small trucks from various Stellantis brands in South America that Koval could easily envision on the road in the U.S. if it weren't for homologation issues and import taxes. The midsize truck segment is one of the few expected to continue to grow through the rest of the decade, Koval says.
