The storm forecast to hit the Bay Area this weekend probably won’t be nearly as intense as the one that brought snow to the region last week.
The forecast for Saturday is rain in San Francisco between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., thewebsite said Thursday. That day, it’s expected to reach a high of just 53 degrees, while wind gusts are expected up to 28 mph. The encroaching storm will probably pass over the North Bay first before moving southward across the Bay Area and the Central Coast, weather service meteorologist David King told SFGATE.
“It's important, you know, to have an umbrella near you,” he said. Once the storm system arrives this weekend, scattered showers will probably persist until Tuesday, he added. This incoming system probably won’t be nearly as intense as the one that covered the Central Coast and Bay Area regionslast week, but “there's the potential for a little bit of snowfall,” King said, explaining that mountain regions with high elevations will probably see some light dusting.
For now though, anyone who’s considering going outdoors Saturday should come prepared with a raincoat just in case.
