Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly who designed London’s Walkie Talkie building has died aged 78
His death was announced by his son, Román, on the website of the family firm, Rafael Viñoly Architects.
Mr Viñoly, who is a director of the firm, added: “He was a visionary who will be missed by all those whose lives he touched through his work.” The designer and his family emigrated to the United States and he worked as a teacher at Harvard University, before setting up his architectural firm in New York.
