We talked to the Emmy winner about the drugstore beauty products she can't live without.
has taken the couch-sitting public by storm and has the hardware to prove it — she's won an Emmy and two Golden Globes for her performance in, she's also managed to develop one of the most recognizable signature hair and makeup looks on television. Brosnahan's Midge Maisel may have a roller coaster of a personal life, but the one thing she's got figured out is her beauty look.
The character is perpetually wearing a bright red lip and chin-length finger-waved hair. Midge may be stuck in the '50s, but Brosnahan herself has a very 2019 perspective on beauty, strength, and the future of Hollywood. Ahead of the show's season three premiere on December 6, we talked to her about drugstore beauty, the fight for equality in Hollywood, and, of course, high school wrestling."In high school, I convinced my parents to let me try wrestling. I loved how strong I felt and how difficult the workouts were. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. And it was one of the earliest examples I have of men and women being capable of the same kinds of things, no matter what anyone says.
"While I’m working on Maisel, we have a manicurist who comes once a week, so my nails are in the best shape they’ve ever been in. On my own, I would never have time to get a manicure once a week. I'll paint my own nails with"I used to be very intimidated by beauty. But recently I've enjoyed playing with lipstick. In the morning, throwing on a bold lip can make you look more awake and also feel more awake.
