Up to 400 council houses in North Lanarkshire could contain aerated concrete and are now set to be inspected by specialist surveyors.

“Permanent solutions for the school and community centre are being designed with a view to works being undertaken in 2024.” The work has already led to the indefinite closure of the B-listed concert hall and theatre complex, which were shut with immediate effect last month on discovery of RAAC and water ingress to the roof, just as two local theatre groups prepared to raise the curtain on long-awaited performances.
