People stuck in expensive UK quarantine hotels have been released after the Government scrapped the red list.
It comes after the UK Health and Security Agency warned that there were ‘unprecedentedly high rates’ of Covid in the accommodation.People with a positive result, or those who are not fully vaccinated and are a contact of someone with a positive result, must remain in quarantine.
Passengers travelling from the now scrapped ‘red list’ countries had been escorted through the arrivals area of terminal 5 of Heathrow airport and onto a waiting coach There had been suggestions that the red list was ‘racist’ given that Omicron had been detected across the world, but only African nations had been included on it.
There were also complaints about the low quality of food provided, infection control and the hugely expensive cost.
