CAIRO - Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani called his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday and discussed “the latest developments in the region, especially in Iraq, as well as ways to reduce tension”, the state news agency said, amid increasing U.S.-Iranian tensions.
The call comes following the U.S. killing of an Iranian general and Tehran’s retaliatory missile strikes.
