After a few frigid days, how warm will it get?

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will rise in Salt Lake City and across the state of Utah over the next few days.Winter is moving out of Utah and more spring-like temperatures are expected across the state this weekend.

Utahns will feel the last of an unseasonably cold stretch on Friday, according to the National Weather Service, with a high of about 39 in the Salt Lake City area. That’s 15 degrees below normal for this time of yearBut temperatures will rise closer to normal — the mid-50s —in the next few days: 50 on Saturday, 48 on Sunday, 50 on Monday, 57 on Tuesday and 50 on Wednesday, with overnight lows in the low to mid-30s.

A weak, fast-moving storm will move through northern and central Utah on Sunday. In Salt Lake City, there’s a 40% chance of rain, and a 20% chance of rain mixed with snow on Sunday night. And a second weak storm may bring a bit more rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Southern Utah will also warm up over the next few days, with temperatures rising to several degrees above normal by early next week. In St. George, the National Weather Service forecasts a high of 60 on Friday, 68 on Saturday, 70 on Sunday, 72 on Monday, 77 on Tuesday, and 74 on Wednesday. Expect sunny skies — there’s no precipitation in the forecast.
