And on Saturday, No. 3 Ohio State heads into its house of horrors, Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana, where the Buckeyes have dropped three of their last four games, to square off against the struggling Purdue Boilermakers.
Although the Boilermakers have earned the “Spoilermakers” mantra for their knack of knocking off College Football Playoff contenders, the 2023 Purdue squad under first-year head coach Ryan Walters has limped to a 2-4 mark at the season’s midway point.With Purdue’s slow start to the season in mind, the Eleven Warriors staff predict little trouble for the Buckeyes on Saturday.
The Buckeyes have covered twice and pushed once in their last three games after an 0-2 start against the spread this season, while the Boilermakers' ATS record matches their 2-4 mark through six games. With Ohio State’s recent success against the spread, 12 of 13 members of the Eleven Warriors staff envision the Buckeyes covering on Saturday with Dan Hope as the lone holdout.The over has only hit once in Ohio State’s first five games, with the lone exception coming in the Buckeyes’ 63-10 drubbing of Western Kentucky on Sept. 16. Purdue has gone over the total three times this season, with the over hitting in two of its last three games.
Eight members of the Eleven Warriors staff predict that Ohio State’s woes against the total will continue, with Jason Priestas, Chris Lauderback, Ramzy Nasrallah, Johnny Ginter, Kyle Jones, Josh Poloha, Matt Gutridge and Jack Emerson all picking the under.
