The Athletics have lost 12 straight games on the road, with the last win coming in Kansas City on May 6.
Whatever good feelings the Athletics had from winning a series on their last homestand receded into the background with a 4-0 loss to the Miami Marlins Friday night in the first game of a nine-game road trip. The A’s were unable to meet any meaningful offensive objective against Edward Cabrera and three relievers, getting just five hits, striking out 15 times and going 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position in falling to 12-47.
Cabrera , struck out 10 batters in six innings and was followed in order by J.T. Chargois, Andrew Nardi and Tanner Scott, with each putting up a zero and combining for five more strikeouts. Miami improved to 30-28. Like Fujinami, Hogan gave up his two runs after two were out in the inning. Miami reached Harris in the sixth for run-scoring singles by Jorge Soler and De La Cruz.
