, a right-wing extremist group, was sentenced to five months in jail on Monday for destruction of property and possessing two high-capacity firearm magazines that he brought to Washington, D.C., days before the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, the Associated Press reported.
Previously, Tarrio told a judge he was unaware that the banner had come from the Asbury United Methodist Church. He told thethat he didn't regret burning the banner because he felt that BLM"has terrorized the citizens of this country." The Proud Boys leader was arrested in the nation's capital two days prior to the violent riot in an attempt to stop the certification of the 2020 presidential election. A judge ordered Tarrio to stay away from Washington as part of an effort to prevent violence from the agitators.
