Prince William and Kate Middleton Have an Awkward Moment as Comedian Pokes Fun at Their Kids
During the show, cohost and comedian Romesh Ranganathan addressed the duke and duchess, while taking aim at their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
"Like me you’re blessed with three kids," Ranganathan said to William and Kate."I imagine every morning they come running into your bedroom and you look at their beautiful faces and say, 'I regret this'."Ranganathan's cohost, Rob Beckett, then got in on the fun, needling William and Kate about scrambling to find child care. "Thank you for coming out tonight. You’re on date night. That's exciting," he said.
Hmm ... Will and Kate were filmed laughing and appeared to have a good sense of humor about everything, but that's definitely a little awkward, because clearly he was taking a shot at their wealth and the fact that they never have to scramble to find a babysitter because they have a full-time nanny. According to Express, fans mostly sided with the Cambridges, with a number of people coming to their defense on social media. "Poor Kate and William ... for having to sit through one of the poorest Royal Variety Shows I've ever seen," one person wrote."With the exception of a few acts, it's been drivel.""The two compares are pitiful. An absolute disgrace," a third commented.
