Hearings begin over Prince Harry's US visa records
At the federal court in Washington DC
It is not clear what visa Prince Harry used to enter the US. His wife, Meghan Markle, is a US citizen. The couple have lived in California since 2020. Nile Gardiner, a former aide to Margaret Thatcher who works as a foreign policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation, told BBC News last week that the foundation believes the case is "symbolically important".
Court documents filed by the Heritage Foundation cite a number of examples of British celebrities being refused entry or returned to the UK. A spokeswoman for the US embassy in London said at the time: "There are several ways of legally travelling into the United States and Ms Lawson has been invited to come to the embassy and apply for a visa for travel to the US." Ms Lawson was eventually granted a visa.
