The former Commonwealth champion will be sentenced in due course
Preston boxer Scott Fitzgerald has admitted wounding on the first day of his trial at Preston Crown Court.
Fitzgerald, 31, who won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, admitted wounding Leevi Francis during an incident on November 27 2022. The prosecution accepted the plea and left further charges of common assault and affray to lie on the file . Fitzgerald's legal team have asked for him to be sentenced later today.Read the latest from the courts
