Bishop’s opens Coastal League play with a must-win game. The Knights have two losses — 27-0 to Christian and a 49-46 shootout with University City. Bishop’s has scored 208 points since being blanked by Christian. … La Jolla Country Day is led by QB Bito Bass-Sulpizio, who has 1,689 yards passing. Mar Vista opens Metro Pacific League play with a big game. The Mariners love to throw the ball and QB Aleks Wojcik has 1,392 yards — 509 in the last two games, wins over Clairemont and Bonita Vista. Mar Vista has five WRs with at least 143 yards, led by Elijah Clark’s 380. … Chula Vista QB Jacob Pedroza hasn’t played in two weeks. Izaac Baca has taken over and was 15 of 16 for 291 yards and 4 TDs last week against San Ysidro.
This is for first place in the Valley League. Fallbrook is led by RB Chris Bausch, who has 913 yards and averages 6.2 yards a carry.
