Another Premier League side have been punished with a points deduction but it won't impact Manchester United or Manchester City
Sheffield United have been hit with a points deduction that will impact the bottom-placed Premier League side the next time they step down into the Football League.
Should Chris Wilder's side fail to produce a great escape in the latter stages of the current campaign, they will start the 2024/25 season at a disadvantage after confirmation of their punishment. The Blades' punishment comes after Everton and Nottingham Forest were hit with point deductions for Profit and Sustainability Rules breaches. The Toffees have been docked eight points in total and Forest only four.
An official statement from The Blades read: "Sheffield United notes today's statement from the EFL with regards to breaches by the club of regulations 52.2.3 and 52.2.4 in the 2022/2023 season.
